In August 2023, Italy’s unemployment rate decreased to 7.3%, a drop from the revised 7.5% in July, surpassing expectations of 7.7%. The number of individuals without employment decreased by 62,000, totaling 1.85 million, while those employed increased by 59,000, reaching 23.593 million. This marked a significant recovery from the previous month’s loss of 73,000 jobs. The overall labor force saw minimal change, declining by 2,000 to 25.440 million.
